Marius and his lovely bride, Jolandie told us about their love story that began in Polokwane. Almost a year after they started dating Marius got down on one knee.
Here is how their love story unfolded:
On a chilly spring morning, Marius took Jolandie on the adventure of her life. With a map Jolandie had to direct Marius to Broederstroom where they arrived at an airfield filled with hot air balloons. While crossing Hartebeespoort dam, Marius got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. After their landing, they celebrated with a champagne breakfast. Little did Marius know this was exactly how Jolandie wanted to get engage.
The couple got married on the farm in the Freestate where Jolandie grew up.
Most of the wedding was planned by themselves, from the pulpit to the photo booth accessories, rounding the day off with homemade ice cream. Each of their table names represented an interesting highlight during their relationship. Something precious to Jolandie was the chapel among the pine trees, which her brothers built. They had to clean the bush and surroundings in the pine forest, and planted crops four months in advance in order to create the perfect wedding scenery.
Her advice to all brides dreaming having their wedding on the farm, is to keep it simple, and make use of what is available.
